About

Hi everyone! My name is Shayla Petersen and I am the owner (and presenter) of L Square Motivation. I began my adventure in leadership in 2008. Since then, I have been in a leadership position for the past 16 plus years and earned my Master's degree in Organizational Leadership in 2019. In January 2024, I began my next educational adventure pursuing my Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. Through my years in leadership, I have been influenced by different leaders that I have either worked with directly or encountered from time to time. Through my leadership encounters, I learned that great leaders are important in any organization (small or large).

 

I have always had an interest in the different leadership styles and often wonder how some organizations have success when leading by authoritative leaders while others have great success by leading with transformational leaders (my style). While pursuing my Ph.D., I am going to focus on empathy in leadership as I personally and respectively find empathy as a strength in leadership yet we seldom experience with leaders.

Lastly, I am a presenter who engages with the audience. I will personally share my own experiences to help the audience relate to the material. We will have fun, laugh, feel motivated, and most importantly, learn what a good leader looks and feels like in this ever changing, fast paced world.
